Jen Olson is a Senior Vice President of Mercury/Clark & Weinstock in Washington, DC.

Before joining Mercury, Jen Olson served for five years as Legislative Director for Senator Lindsey O. Graham, R-South Carolina. As Legislative Director, Ms. Olson oversaw Senator Graham’s work on the Senate Armed Services Committee, Judiciary Committee, Homeland Security Committee, Budget Committee, Aging Committee, and Veterans Affairs Committee. She participated in high-level Congressional and White House negotiations on a wide variety of issues including: energy and climate legislation, Social Security and pension reform, comprehensive immigration reform, and Guantanamo Bay detainee policy.

Prior to being named Legislative Director, Ms. Olson served as Legislative Assistant to Senator Graham for two years focusing on budget, tax, financial services and Social Security.

Prior to joining Senator Graham’s staff, Ms. Olson served as Legislative Assistant for Congressman Jim Kolbe, R-Arizona, where she focused on Social Security, tax, budget, and health care issues. Before joining Congressman Kolbe’s staff, Ms. Olson worked as a research assistant at the American Enterprise Institute and as Pension Policy Analyst at the American Academy of Actuaries. She was named one of the “Hill 100” by National Journal in 2005.

Ms. Olson earned her bachelor’s degree in economics from Bucknell University in Lewisburg, Pa. She lives in Alexandria, Va., with her husband, Andy.
